VIRTUAL MEETINGS & EXIT INTERVIEWS
- Pre Course Virtual Discussion (REQUIRED): All students are required to participate in a pre course virtual discussion on August 11th at 10am PST.
- Exit Interview (REQUIRED): All students are required to participate in an individual exit interview with the instructor in the two-week period after the conclusion of the in person assessment. August 20th-September 3rd
PRE-COURSE MATERIAL
- CWA Online Learning modules (REQUIRED): All students are required to complete the CWA Online Learning modules prior to the program start date (CWA Foundations, PRS Level 1, Level 2 Boulders, Level 2 Ropes, WAH Level 1, and WAH Level 2). You can expect a time commitment of approximately 3-4 hours to complete all modules. Once booking is complete, you will be registered in the CWA hub where you can complete the online content.
PROFESSIONAL ROUTESETTING (DIRECT ENTRY) CERTIFICATION
The CWA PRS Direct Entry Course is an assessment for experienced, proficient and active routesetters that wish to gain the CWA PRS Certification. There will be no instruction and candidates should exceed certification prerequisites.
This course assesses the candidates ability to:
- Work as part of a professional routesetting team for a recreational climbing facility
- Work at height in a manner compliant with industry standards
- Set forerun, assess, and edit boulders to meet the need of a target audience
- Set forerun, assess, and edit rope routes efficiently on rope systems
- Identify and manage predictable hazards unique to routesetting on rope systems, executing sound judgement
